KP Governor underlines need for promoting investment, trade in merged districts
PESHAWAR
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Gulam Ali has urged students to cultivate culture of humanity in themselves and learn holistic skills for combating major challenges of modern ages.
He said this while addressing the 12th convocation of the City University of Science and Information Technology Peshawar here on Tuesday. In the ceremony, Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University presented the annual report of the university to the Governor KP.
Addressing the ceremony, Haji Ghulam Ali appreciated the educational services of all private sector universities including City University and the university is a jewel for the children of the province.
“I pay tribute to the educational services for equipping them with education. The universities are providing the best modern educational environment to the youth in present times” he added.
Haji Gulam Ali added that the youth now have to become a source of light for those who are surrounded by darkness in their practical life.
He said that the secret of my own success is service and service gives me peace. The youth should be at the forefront to serve those who seek help.
Governor Haji Ghulam Ali said that morals and values should not be left out of our lives under any circumstances, parents have dedicated their earnings and life for your education, now you don’t have to be a burden on your parents.
The ceremony was attended by the President of City University Mohammed Sabursethi, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Syed Minhaj Al Hasan, members of the Board of Governors including teachers, students and parents.
Meanwhile, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ghulam Ali underlined the need for promoting investment and trade in KP especially the merged districts.
He said that the merged districts of KP have rich natural resources and there is an urgent need for provision of modern facilities related to industry and trade.
He was talking to separate delegations from Swat, Buner and South Waziristan districts here at the Governor House.
He was informed about the problems of education, health, peace and employment and the victims of recent floods.
The Governor said that since he himself is a public servant, he is well aware of the sufferings and difficulties of the people, adding that the problems have been identified and efforts would be made to solve them in cooperation with the relevant institutions on priority basis.
Later, former Member National Assembly Sardar Muhammad Yusuf and Member Provincial Assembly Malik Zafar Azam from Kirk also met the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile a delegation comprising the officials of Swat Chamber of Commerce and Industry also called on the Governor Ghulam Ali and congratulated him on assuming the constitutional position.
They expressed the hope that as KP governor, he would play an effective role for the promotion of industry and trade, especially for Malakand division. They invited the Governor to visit Swat.
