One soldier, civilian martyred; 9 injured in Miranshah: ISPR

A soldier of Pakistan Army and a civilian embraced martyrdom in a suicide blast occurred in general area Miranshah of North Waziristan district on Wednesday.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release issued on Thursday, the martyred soldier was identified as Havaldar Muhammad Ameer (age 30 years, resident of Mianwali) whereas an innocent civilian also embraced shahadat (martyrdom), while nine innocent civilians were injured in the incident.
President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday strongly condemned the suicide blast in Miranshah, Noth Waziristan that left a police personnel and a civilian dead. In their separate statements, both vowed to eliminate terrorism and extremism from the soil of the country.
President Alvi said the entire nation was committed to fight terrorism. Prime Minister Sharif said those killing the innocent people could not be regarded as Muslims. The terrorists are acting on the will of anti-state elements, he added. The president and the prime minister prayed for the souls of Havaldar Muhammad Ameer and a civilian who lost their lives in the terror incident. Both paid tribute to the sacrifices rendered by security personnel for the safety of homeland.
Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah while condemning the suicide blast in Miranshah area of North Waziristan expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Havaldar Muhammad Ameer and a civilian.
“The entire nation pays tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country and salute to their courage” the minister said in a news statement. He said the sacrifices of martyrs would not go in vain. The entire nation stood with its security forces which had capability to curb terror activities in the country, he added.
Sanaullah said terrorists would be chased and their nefarious designs would be foiled. He also expressed concern over the law and order situation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb also strongly condemned the suicide blast in Miranshah area in ??North Waziristan. In a statement, the minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Havaldar Muhammad Amir and a civilian person in the blast.
“Cowardly acts of terrorism cannot dampen our spirits”, Marriyam Aurangzeb said while reiterating the government’s commitment to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country”. The minister said that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain. She said the entire nation stood with its security agencies in the war against terrorism.
