Well-equipped and modern gynecology obstetrics unit and nutrition stabilization center were opened here in district headquarter hospital, Landi Kotal on Friday.
The facilities have been established by the world health organization (WHO) with a cost of approximately nine million rupees.
On the request of the medical superintendent (MS) an elder of the area cut the ribbon to formally inaugurate the facility.
Sharing details MS of the health center Dr Jamshed Saeed Sherani that the facility includes a labor room, pre and post delivery wards.
Separate rooms were set up for HIV, HBS, HCV patients, he added.
He maintained that a stylish ward for mal-nutrition children had been set up to ease the affected children.
Admission ward, play room and provision of nutrition supplement were among the services that would be available in the section.
With the setting up of the new capability, additional treatment would be provided to the visiting patients and would help to decrease referral cases.
He urged the locals to take their female patients to the DHQ hospital and exploit the facilities being supplied to them.
