PESHAWAR
Provincial Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub Khan has said that ongoing developmental schemes of the department in Newly Merged Areas (NMAs) will bring about a socio and economic prosperity in the lives of people associated with agriculture, adding that thousands of acres of land in the tribal belt be irrigated soon.
Work on different projects underway which will have positive impacts on the people associated with agriculture.
He expressed these views in the six-monthly review meeting of ongoing projects under the Annual Development Program (ADP) of the Irrigation Department for 2022-23 in the merged districts.
Secretary Irrigation Muhammad Ayaz, Chief Engineer Circle SEz and other concerned officials attended the meeting. The participants of the meeting were given a detailed briefing on the ongoing projects under the ongoing annual development program in the merged districts, and were informed about the cost estimation, efficiency, progress so far and the problems faced on the projects.
During the briefing, it was told that work is ongoing on 17 projects in the merged districts, while work on two new projects will start this year.
The forum was informed that four projects are in the process of completion in the merged districts of the province.
He issued instructions for further improvement and said to perform the official duties in the best way.
With the special interest of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, record projects have been started in various fields in the merged districts, the fruits of which have started to be seen by the people.
