Aid delivered to 97pc areas across country, Secy BISP

In the meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Security, Secretary Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) said that aid has been delivered to 97 percent of the areas so far.
The registration process will start from January 15. Door-to-door survey will now be replaced by dynamic survey
Regarding the aid coming from foreign countries, he said that the details will be given by Finance.

In the meeting, Secretary Benazir Income Support Program said in a briefing on relief in flood-affected areas that over 2.8 million has been paid.
He said that earlier there was a door-to-door survey, now there is a dynamic survey and the registration will start from January 15.
The members of the committee said that people register by misrepresenting their income and many families are still waiting for assistance.
The head of the center puts 15,000 to 10,000 in his pocket. Chairperson Committee Saira Bano said that we have many videos where people have not been helped.
On which the secretary committee said that aid has been delivered in 97 percent of the areas, he said that our system is biometric which ensure the delivery of aid to the right person.
The committee members said that there were deserving people in the flood affected areas who were not given even a cent.
The secretary replied, NDMA told the affected union councils, the affected area is not our area, our area is poverty.
