PTI while rejecting the result of Local Bodies (LB) polls in Karachi has demanded new election therein.
Addressing a press conference here Thursday PTI secretary general Asad Umar has said Karachi mandate was stolen forcibly and through rigging.
He held that bid was made to postpone the elections first. Then mandate was stolen.
He observed rigging had started from early morning on the day of polls. PTI leader Amjid Afridi made video of rigging. It was told in the video how 1000 votes were brought to polling station.
Those who were shown to be involved in rigging in Amjid Afridi video were not arrested and on the other hand Amjid Afridi was arrested. He and his brothers were arrested and tortured. One eye of his brother was fully destroyed.
He remarked this election was not taking place on mountains but it was taking place in a union council. The election staff was pressurized. Election commission is looking helpless in all this matter.
All are seeing that election was stolen. Then protest was made.
When people voiced protest then PTI workers were arrested.
Rigging took place in 16 unions in Hyderabad. A terrible game is being played in Karachi and Hyderabad.
He underscored Karachities were being pushed to wall. If people of Karachi rise tomorrow then they will be called terrorists. Karachi has rejected the party of province.
He stated 2023 is year of general election. We have to make preparations for election.
