Police conducted an operation and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from a godown here on Thursday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Saddar Circle Mohammad Ali that SHO Rehman Baba Police Station Manzoor Khan received a tip-off, after which the police team led by the aforementioned officers launched an operation and recovered a huge cache of arms from a godown in the Qayumdin Ghari area of Peshawar.
DSP Mohammad Ali said that the weapons included Two rifles, 56 different bore pistols, 120 magazines and 1500 different bore cartridges. Officials added that the illegal arms were stored in a godown for smuggling to other parts of the province and Punjab.
Police during the operation also arrested two persons identified as Ubaidullah and Imran, one of the accused belongs to Khyber district and other the resident of Peshawar.
Police said that arms have been sized and cases were registered against the arrested persons.
