Islamabad security puts on high alert and section 144 imposed

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir, the security of the federal capital Islamabad has been put on high alert in order to deal with any untoward decision, a police public relations officer said. He said that, the Islamabad Capital Police has decided to further tighten the security in order to maintain any law and order and emergency situation in a timely manner. In this regard, section 144 has also been imposed in the federal capital. Only lawyers, journalists and those related to pending cases will be allowed to enter in the vicinity of court premises. In view of terrorism and other threats, orders have also been issued to put security on high alert, while Islamabad Capital Police is taking all possible steps to ensure the safety of lives and property of the citizens. Citizens are also requested to cooperate with the police and inform immediately about any suspicious thing or activity at the concerned police station or “Pukar-15” helpline. DNA
