Three laborers were killed when a mountain avalanche fell down on them here in Sarkai, Sur Kamar village of subdivision Jamrud district Khyber on Sunday.
According to Rescue 1122 official, the manual workers were busy breaking stones for construction purposes when a huge rock sleeping down buried the workers under the debris.
Soon after the incident, the Rescue 1122 relief and medical teams and locals rushed to the site and started relief works.
Two injured workers were retrieved and shifted to Jamrud health center for medico-legal formalities; however they succumbed to their injuries, the official informed.
The two deceased were identified as Sher Mast and Usman.
The third effects known as Saleem, was stated to be killed as he was still under the rubble of heavy stones and no sign of his life could be shown.
Till filing the report hectic efforts were in progress to recover it, although the relief activities were affected by the landslide that was continued at the site, the official informed.
Two dumper trucks and an excavator were also damaged in the incident, locals said.
