Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority conducted major operation in Nowshera and Peshawar respective and during checking 5715 kg of non-standard food including Mutton Liver and meat were seized and destroyed.
This was stated by a spokesman while talking to the media men said that major operations of inspection teams of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority raided different localities in Nowshera and Peshawar, the two major cities.
He said the District Nowshera Food Safety Team conducted operations on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab border during checking, 5715 kg of non-standard food and meat were seized and destroyed.
Keleji (Mutton Liver) and meat were being supplied from Punjab to Peshawar, Mardan and Nowshera, the spokesperson said.
The Nowshera team also operated in Shireen Koto and during the operation, 1080 kg of non-standard butter and malai were also seized from the vehicle and destroyed, the spokesman informed. The Nowshera Food Safety Team also imposed heavy fines on the owners, the spokesperson said.
Peshawar Food Safety Team checked several warehouses on Ashraf Road Peshawar on secret information and more than 1700 liters of fake spirits were exported from a warehouse and destroyed on the spot. The food safety team sealed the godown and imposed heavy fines on the owners, the spokesperson said.
