Police claimed to have arrested in the Town area of the provincial metropolis the motorcycle lifter along with the ring leader of a gang involved in robberies at gunpoint.
Town Police Station SHO Sajjad Hussain told reporters on Monday that a motorcycle lifter along with the leader of the gang involved in robbing citizens at gunpoint in posh and residential areas of the city have been arrested.
He said that the main accused belonging to the arrested notorious gang was identified as Shahzeb resident of Maryamzai.
The arrested person has admitted to be involved in robberies at gunpoint, police said and added that
17 valuable mobile phones, Rs 20,000 looted cash, weapons and a motorcycle were also recovered from the possession of the accused.
A special team headed by DSP Town Sajjad Khan has been formed to arrest the absconding accused.
Similarly, during the second operation, Aamir, who was wanted in several incidents of motorcycle lifting, was arrested in the same area.
Police said that the arrested accused is a resident of Charsadda district who was active member of an organized motorcycle lifting gang,
During the preliminary investigation, the arrested accused confessed to being involved in several incidents of motorcycle lifting.
Police have recovered five stolen motorcycles and important revelations are expected from both the arrested persons.
