PESHAWAR
Caretaker Minister Excise and Narcotics Control Haji Manzoor Khan Afridi paid a surprise visit to the Excise and Narcotics Control Police Station as well as offices of the Director Excise and ETO in Mardan.
He besides reviewing its performance also got acquainted with the problems faced by its staff. Secretary Excise Ehsanullah, Additional Secretary Excise Syed Mazhar Ali Shah and Director Narcotics Control Engr Eid Badshah were also present on the occasion.
During his visit to the Excise Police Station, the Provincial Minister inspected various sections of the Excise Police Station, including Hawalat, Warehouse, Moharrar and SHO Offices and Investigation Wing.
Haji Manzoor Khan Afridi directed to equip all the sections of the police station with modern requirements and also develop an intelligence and investigation system on modern scientific lines for effective Narcotics and drugs prevention.
During the inspection of Excise and Taxation offices, Director Excise Mardan Fawad Iqbal and ETO Imtiaz Ahmed gave a detailed briefing to the provincial minister on the performance of these regional and district offices of the Excise Department.
They revealed that the recovery of all the five districts of Mardan region is 66 percent which is far better as compared to other parts of the province including the merged districts.
Haji Manzoor Afridi later inspected various sections of excise offices and issued orders on the spot to improve its staff working conditions.
