ISLAMABAD: Residents of the housing society, River Garden, located on the Expressway have formed a representative interim committee against the administration’s poor arrangements and a huge increase in bills. In a meeting held recently, serious concerns were expressed about the situation of the society. The meeting highlighted the different situation of security, sanitation, and other services. An injunction has been obtained from the court against the exorbitant increase in residential bills, and the administration’s push to shut off the water falls under the category of contempt of court. The residents demanded negotiations from the administration so that all the problems of the society can be solved through mutual understanding. An interim committee has been established for negotiations, with Aftab Ali and Athar Ali Goraya as co-conveners. Other members of the committee include Khalid Mahmood, Sheraz Rauf, Rizwan Ahmed, Abdul Majeed Ali, and Khalid Parvez Raja. At the end of the meeting, a resolution was passed demanding the management of the housing society to reduce its lavish expenditure and stop threatening to cut off the provision of minimum facilities to the residents.
