PESHAWAR: After successful negotiation, the stand-off between police and excise department officials was resolved amicably. As per details, four arrested Excise officials were freed. The issue between the two forces emerged after Chamkani Police arrested the abovementioned officials. SP Rural in a statement has said that an inquiry will be held against SHO Police Station Chamkani and if proved guilty action would be taken against him. The excise department termed the arrest unlawful and demanded action against the SHO for arresting the officials who had set-up a check post. The issue was resolved in discussion attended by DG Excise and SP Rural and other officers. It is to note here that on the same night, Excise police arrested a notorious smuggler and recovered 15 kg of high-quality heroin from his possession. Shinwari
