ISLAMABAD: Gold prices decreased in the country as international bullion markets remain cautious ahead of the next round of US debt ceiling negotiations. The gold rate in the country for a single tola of 24-karat reached Rs230,700 from Rs230,900 while for 10 grams of 24-karat reached Rs197,900 from Rs198,100 a session earlier. Similarly, the gold price for 22-karat was recorded at Rs 212,900 per tola. As of 1340 hours GMT, the gold futures in the international market were available at $2,008.80 per ounce, showing a decrease of $7.40. Out of the $7.40 per ounce decrease, +$0.80 was due to weakening of the US dollar and -$8.20 was due to predominant sellers, according to Kitco Gold Index. Gold price continued to fluctuate in a relatively tight channel above $2,000 on Tuesday. TLTP
