Gold jumps by Rs2,500 to Rs237,300 per tola

ISLAMABAD: Gold maintained gaining positive traction in the country due to uncertainties on political and economic fronts and prices jumped by Rs2,000 per tola on Monday, after recording 1.95 percent weekly increase last week. The gold rate in Pakistan for a single tola of 24-karat reached Rs237,300 from Rs235,300 a session earlier. Similarly, the gold rate for 10 grams of 24-karat reached Rs203,450 from Rs201,750, showing an increase of Rs1,700. The gold price for 22-karat was recorded at Rs217,450 against Rs215,650 per tola a session ag0. Likewise, the gold rate for 10 grams of 22-karat surged by Rs1,600 and reached Rs186,500 from Rs184,900. As of 1335 hours GMT, the gold futures in the international market were available at $1,974.30 per ounce, showing a decrease of $3.30. Out of the $3.30 per ounce decrease, +$0.20 was due to weakening of the US dollar and -$3.50 was due to predominant sellers, according to Kitco Gold Index. TLTP
