We all need to work together to eradicate polio: Dr Khawaja Irfan

Dr. Khawaja Irfan, the coordinator of WHO Malakand Division, and Shadab Younas of UNICEF, have said that a case of polio has been reported in Pakistan this year, and we all need to work together to eradicate this infectious disease from our country so that no child in Pakistan has to suffer from this disability for life.
Speaking at a one-day media workshop at a local hotel in Swat, they said that currently, only two countries in the world, Pakistan and Afghanistan, have reported cases of polio virus, and every time we need to vaccinate our children with polio drops to protect our country from this disease. They said that polio does not only affect children, but also adults of all ages.
They said that Malakand Division is a tourist area and they have deployed polio teams on all internal roads so that the children of visiting tourists can also be given polio drops.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Swat, Sohail Ahmed Khan, said that until we are free from polio, the world will not accept us, so it is essential for all of us to make our country polio-free.
