Punjab cabinet approves funds of Rs5b for upgradation of 7 hospitals

The Punjab Cabinet Friday approved the funds of five billion rupees for the upgradation and treatment facilities of seven hospitals in the province. The 20th meeting of the cabinet under the chairmanship of Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi was held here in Lahore on Friday.
In the meeting, the cabinet approved the program for upgrading seven hospitals including Mayo Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, General Hospital, Dental Hospital, Children’s Hospital Lahore, Nishtar Hospital Multan and Allied Hospital Faisalabad will be restored, constructed and restructured.
In order to improve the facilities of children’s treatment, in the first phase, the facilities of emergency treatment will be improved at Children’s Hospital Lahore and the Institute of Child Health Multan. The cabinet approved the revolving fund for the treatment of all government employees at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI) Lahore.
The Cabinet has given approval to change the names of DHQ Hospital Kasur to Baba Balhe Shah Hospital Kasur and District Headquarters Hospital Faisalabad to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Hospital Faisalabad.
Grant-in-aid has also been approved for the upgradation of the Government Central Model School on Lower Mall Lahore while the Cabinet approved taking back the work of water supply and sanitation from the respective local governments and entrusting it to the Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company.
The Cabinet also approved the summary of the de-notification of the Board of Directors of Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company. Provincial ministers, advisors, chief secretary, inspector general of police and other officials attended the cabinet meeting.
