Local police have arrested a social media activist for allegedly receiving money from a person on the name of Mardan police, police sources said. Sources added that Hussainullah son of Hazrat Ullah resident of Gulibagh submitted a written application with the local police.
He stated in his application that Aman son of Abrahim resident of Sultanabad Shamsi road contacted his uncle Mahboob son of Abdul Sattar resident of Peshawar currently doing laboring in the UAE.
He added that the mentioned accused allegedly contacted his uncle on mobile phone that a police constable named Hussan Shah resident of Babuzai Katlang is a poor man and suffering from kidney disease.
He told his uncle that the mentioned constable needed financial support for treatment. He stated in the application that on 17th January 2023 his uncle sent him 2 lakh rupees for the treatment of constable on Meezan Bank Mardan account. He added that later on he handed him over 50,000 rupees for CDR. He stated that his uncle owed 7 crore rupees to a person in Karachi in connection with business.
He stated the mentioned accused promised his uncle that he will also solve this issue. He added that later on the mentioned accused contacted his uncle and told him that he had gifted a mobile phone worth Rs 4 lakh 10 thousand to a police officer of Mardan police in connection with your work.
He stated that his uncle paid him the mentioned money. He stated in his application that the mentioned accused through this way received million rupees from his uncle on the name of Mardan police.
On the complaint of Hussainullah, Hoti police station registered a case against the accused under section 419,420,170,171 and 406 and arrested him and put him in the police station lockup. It may be noted that Aman, the alleged accused, is a social media activist and he established close relations with the police officers of Mardan district.
The mentioned accused in the past introduced himself PRO of local police and attended the police functions at police line and police stations and shared news, pictures and videos of different police events on his social media pages. However due to his close relation to the police officer the mentioned alleged accused cheated the people.
