PESHAWAR: Caretaker government of Khyber PakhtunKhawa (KPK) has ordered all district administrations to inspect commercial and residential chairlifts after Bhattgram Chairlift incident and sought a report within a week. According to government authorities, the rescue operation which continued for several hours was completed to remove 8 people stuck in chairlift in Pashtu place in Bhattgram city of KPK yesterday and all the people were taken out safely. The caretaker government of KPK directed the administration of all districts to inspect commercial and private chairlifts and cable cars after Bhattgram Chairlift incident. According to government authorities, Deputy Commissioners of all districts of the province have been directed to inspect chairlifts and submit report to government within a week. Government authorities said that all commercial, domestic, recreational places, travel chairlifts or cable cars running over rivers and canals should be checked. According to provincial government, the design, capacity and safety measures of all chairlifts should be inspected. Apart from this, it will be mandatory to get NOC from district administration for operating the chairlifts. Online
