ISLAMABAD: Islamabad’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) East Usman Ashraf chaired a review meeting on anti-dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and fever prevention on Saturday. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Commissioners and Magistrates and other stakeholders, an ICT Spokesman said. ADC Ashraf emphasized the importance of preventive measures against dengue fever, stating that it is not a dangerous disease but can be fatal if not treated promptly. He directed officials to improve sanitation arrangements and prevent water accumulation in all areas of the city, including workshops and tire shops. He also called for an awareness campaign to educate the public about dengue fever and its symptoms. The meeting discussed a range of measures to control the spread of dengue fever in Islamabad, including; increased surveillance and monitoring of dengue hotspots, regular vector control activities, such as fogging and larviciding; public awareness campaigns to educate people about dengue fever and its prevention, improved sanitation and waste management.
