KP forests minister visits PFI Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The provincial caretaker minister for food, agriculture, livestock and forests Asif Rafiq on Friday visited the Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Peshawar here, where he was briefed about various sections of the institute. According to a statement, secretary forest KP Syed Nazar Hussain Shah and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. Provincial Minister Asif Rafiq said that climate change poses significant and critical challenges to the province and the role of PFI Peshawar has increased manifold to protect forests of the province. He said that environment friendly tourism promotion is the need of the hour as protection of biodiversity is mandatory for human and non-human things. Asif Rafiq lauded the performance of PFI and asked the officials concerned to brace up for the challenges of climatic changes. DLP Report
