KP police chief terms community support important factor for effective policing

Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan on Wednesday awarded the police officers and jawans of different regions for their excellent performance in line of duties, said a police department handout.
The police officers and jawans of Mardan, Malakand, Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat and Banun regions were awarded certificates of commendations and cash in a ceremony held at the Central Police Office Peshawar.
The ceremony was attended by the Additional IGP Operations, Additional IGP Headquarters and Commandant Elite Force and other high-ups of the police department.
Those who receive cash prizes and commendation certificates included Mardan Region District Mohmand Police DSP Liaquat Ali, DSP Dal Faraz Khan, ASI Iqar Khan, District Nowshera Police SDPO Cantt Nowshera Ehsan Shah, SDPO Pabi Gul Syed Khan, S. HO Akbarpura Inspector Gah Hussain, SHO Police Station Jaluzai Jamshed Khan, ASI Sajjad Iqbal, SP Jamilur Rahman of Kohat Police District of Kohat Region, Inspector Sajjad Haider, Sub Inspectors Islamuddin, Zameer Gul, IHC Nizh Ali. Shah, Constable Ajmal, DSP Mehmood Nawaz, District Bannu Police of Bannu Region, Sub-Inspectors Zaheer Khan, Raza Khan, Arshadullah Khan, Numan Khan, PASI Javed Rasool, Head Constable Afzal Khan, LHC Nimat Rehman, Dera. SHO Muhammad Asghar Khan of District Tank Police Station Gomal of Ismail Khan Region, Moharrar Aliullah, ASI Shafiullah, Constable Parvez, Iqbal, Sherzaman, Barakatullah, Ahmad Nawaz, Ibrahim, Driver Ismatullah and Malakand Region, District Lower Dir Police SHO Lal Qila Sub Inspector Saleem Shah, ASI Nasir Khan, Head Constable Saqlain Khan, Constable Shah Hussain.
While addressing the ceremony, IGP-KP Akhtar Hayat Khan said that it is a matter of satisfaction that every officer and jawan of the police force has always performed their duties with unparalleled bravery and proved his abilities in fight against ant-social elements.
He urged the police to get the support of local community in eradicating criminals’ elements from the society and establishing peace in the province.
Akhtar Hayat Khan maintained that before devising any effective strategy, local people support and cooperation is an important factor.
He praised the unprecedented courage and bravery of the police, dedication to duty and professional spirit in the different incidents.
KP Police chief said that every police officer and jawan would be encouraged for showing excellent performance.
