ISLAMABAD
Election Commission (EC) has filed report in Supreme Court (SC) regarding implementation of decision in Faizabad Dharna case.
In this report EC has given clean chit to Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) on the allegations of anti state activities and foreign funding.
In the report it has been further stated report was sought from interior ministry on the involvement of TLP in anti state activities.
As per interior ministry TLP is not involved in anti state activities. TLP funding sources were also reviewed.
According to scrutiny committee report TLP received Rs 15 lac from prohibited sources. The amount of 15 lac for TLP is next to Nil.
The small amount received by TLP cannot be considered foreign funding. There is no such evidence that TLP is anti state party. After inquiry notice against TLP was withdrawn. EC has full perception of its constitutional obligations.
