It is possible that the response to the show cause notice by Supreme Judicial Council on behalf of Supreme Court judge Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi will be submitted in the next 48 hours. The Supreme Judicial Council issued a show-cause notice to Supreme Court judge Justice Mazahir Naqvi by a majority of three to two and asked him to respond by November 10.
Sources said that Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi will soon appoint a counsel and then he will prepare a reply and submit it to the council.
This show cause notice was issued in the light of 10 complaints filed by the Pakistan Bar Council, Provincial Bar Councils and Lawyer Mian Dawood Advocate in the Supreme Judicial Council.
The complaints were about the allegations of Justice Mazahar Akbar Naqvi amassing assets beyond his income and using his powers for personal gain.
The five-member Supreme Judicial Council under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa reviewed the complaints in its meeting, in the light of which it was decided to issue a show cause notice to Justice Mazahir Akbar Naqvi.
