Philip Morris Pakistan Limited (PMPKL) is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmed Rehman as the new Chairman of the Board. Mr. Rehman is a distinguished professional with a remarkable career that has traversed diverse sectors and renowned projects, reflecting his expertise as a startup and turnaround specialist.
His journey began at Unilever, and he subsequently made pivotal contributions during the GSK merger, played an instrumental role in establishing the first logistics service provider in the Middle East with Jardine Matheson/Olayan JV, and held the position of Country Manager for Pakistan and Afghanistan at PepsiCo.
Mr. Rehman’s most notable achievement was at Engro Foods, where he served as CEO and led the company to become a leading FMCG enterprise. During his tenure, Engro Foods was honoured with the G20 Global Top 15 Companies award, a distinction unique to a Pakistani company.
His dedication to transformative leadership extended to the social responsibility sector with the Dawood Foundation’s KSBL education project.
After a sabbatical, Mr. Rehman returned to Engro Foods as CEO and executed a successful turnaround by 2015, culminating in the sale of a 51% stake to Royal FrieslandCampina, marking the largest private foreign investment in Pakistan’s history.

Prof. Dr. Shahzad Murtaza, originally from Sargodha, Pakistan, pursued his educational journey at Government College Sargodha and Punjab University Lahore. He later obtained his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Prior to taking on the role of ViceChancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahzad Murtaza actively served as ViceChancellor and Dean at Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology.
He joined Khwaja Fareed University in April 2022, having previously held positions as an Assistant and Associate Professor at the University of Gujrat. During his time at the University of Gujrat, he also served as Chairman of the Chemistry Department, Chairman of the Hall Council, and Director of the Quality Assessment Cell (QAC).
His extensive research contributions include numerous published articles in both national and international journals.
