Disabality Day observed in Governor House

Like other parts of the country the International Day of Persons Disability was observed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also on Sunday.
In observance of the International Disabilities Day, a ceremony was held at the Governor House under the auspices of the Association for the Rehabilitation of Physically Disabled (ARPD).
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali was chief guest while provincial minister Justice (R) Irshad Qaisar, ARPD President Anjum Anwar, Secretary General Zahra Iqbal, and around 50 disabled children also took part in the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Haji Ghulam Ali said that special children are close to his heart, considering their service as a form of worship.
Following his pledge, Governor House not only extended invitations to special children but also personally remained available to serve them.
He said that over 2,000 disabled children were made special guests at the Governor House, where arrangements were made for their entertainment and lunch.
The Governor expressed his wish for disabled individuals to lead a life of dignity and respect.
The Governor emphasized that disabled persons are an integral part of our community and are seekers of our special attention and love.
Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Minister Irshad Qaisar lauded the Governor’s humanitarian commitment and expressed appreciation for his dedication to serving humanity.
He emphasized that disabled and special children deserve our special attention, and the Governor has proven his sincere commitment to humanity and public service.
The president of the association commended the Governor for his compassion, love, and empathy towards special children, highlighting the exemplary manner in which they were invited to the Governor House.
The event concluded with a celebratory cake cutting.
