Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah paid a surprise visit to the Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar and enquired patients about the treatment facilities on Saturday.
He expressed displeasure on the absence of staff and lack of cleanliness and directed the quarter concerned to improve the arrangements at the hospital.
The Chief Minister inspected the various departments of the hospital and reviewed the medical facilities including Emergency, Radiology, Pads, Cafeteria and other sections of the HMC Peshawar.
Instructing the authorities present on the spot to improve the sanitation situation in the hospital especially in the emergency and to ensure the attendance of the staff as per the duty roster.
Staff present on duty briefed the Chief Minister about the facilities being provided to patients in the hospital.
Justice (retd) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah said that without the required hygienic environment, quality healthcare service delivery is not possible, adding that the hospital management should given special attention to ensure cleanliness in all respects.
Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry and other high ups were also present on the occasion.
