PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhray and the Additional Chief Secretary Home visited Central Jail Peshawar on Tuesday. According to a statement, the inspector General of Prison KP, Usman Mehsud, Additional Inspector General of Prison Hamid ur Rahman, and Superintendent Jail Waseem Khan warmly welcomed both the Chief Secretary and the Additional Chief Secretary Home upon their arrival. During their visit, CS-KP and ACS Home inspected various sections of the jail, interacted with prisoners and inquired about the facilities provided by the jail administration. On this occasion, the IG prison presented a comprehensive overview of jail security management and the facilities offered to prisoners. It was highlighted that the prison department provides skills and trainings to enable the prisoners to earn a livelihood and support their families after release. Nadeem Aslam also inspected the Sarhad mental hospital inside the premises of jail and instructed relevant authorities to relocate the Mental Hospital to its designated location immediately.
CS-KP commended the Prisons Department’s initiatives for prisoner welfare, emphasized the importance of a clean jail environment and directed the jail administration to ensure facilities for prisoners.
