PYONGYANG
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has ordered the military, munitions industry and nuclear weapons sector to step up war preparations to counter unusual confrontational actions by the US.
According to the British news agency, he said yesterday in an important meeting of the country’s ruling party, while discussing the policy setting for the new year, that North Korea will expand strategic cooperation with independent anti-imperialist countries.
He ordered the military and the munitions industry, nuclear weapons and civil defense sectors to intensify war preparations.
During the meeting, he also set economic goals for the new year, calling it a “decisive year” to fulfill the country’s five-year development plan. He clarified the important tasks and emphasized the need to stabilize agricultural production at a high level.
