Islamabad (PR): The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has directed the federal secretary education to get register a case against vice chancellor Urdu University on the charge of having fake education degree and immediately remove vice chancellor from the post.
The committee in its observation says that country politicians were facing disqualification on fake degrees and on the other hand officers having fake degrees are holding the seats of Vice Chancellor without any fear.
The PAC meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah at the parliament house on Wednesday. First time during the past three years all seventeen members of the committee participated in the meeting.
During the meeting the audit objections of education ministry for the financial year 2012-13 was reviewed in detail. The Executive Officer HEC told committee that Urdu University vice chancellor holds the office on the base of fake PhD degree and added that all investigations complete against him and that sent to Karachi University because the Directorate degree had issued the University.
On this PAC has directed the federal secretary education to get register a case against Vice Chancellor Urdu University on the charge of having fake education degree and immediately expel Vice chancellor from his post. During the meeting it also directed the concerned to conduct investigations of financial misappropriation of Rs. 120 million of students National Internship Program.
The meeting informed that approximately Rs. 27 million were vanished from Malala Yousafzai funds and directed to re-probe the matter. Funds about Rs. 15 million had also vanished allocated for the construction of Islamic University in Dacca.
The meeting was also told that former director general Brigadier (Retd) Siraj-ul-Haq had recruited some 39 officials illegally in Basic Education Community School project. Public Accounts Committee has also directed to probe against these illegal recruitments. Kamran Zafar has also been included in this scandal.
The PAC has directed FIA to complete inquiry of this scandal within three months. These officials were recruited in 2009 but the responsible could not be identified despite passing the period of three years. The meeting was told that degree of head of National Testing Service (NTS) has also proven fake and action against it was being taken.The PAC has directed to terminate services of fake degree holders and get back their salaries.
