MARDAN
Deputy Collector of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Regulatory Authority Muhammad Hassan and Inspector Shehzad Ali Khan visited Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and met Mardan Chamber President Zahir Shah. On this occasion, members of Mardan Chamber Executive Committee, presidents and general secretaries of various markets of Central Organization of Merchants District Mardan participated.
The visiting guests shed light on the establishment and objectives of the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Regulatory Authority and said that it is a provincial body that collects sales tax applicable on services from traders, industrialists and manufacturing units and collects it in the provincial treasury.
On this, Mardan Chamber of Commerce President Zahir Shah addressed the guests and said that our province and especially the businessmen of our region are already suffering from many problems.
The government should make the tax system more integrated and simplified so as to facilitate the traders and industrialists and not add more difficulties as the current tax system is too complex which is beyond everyone’s understanding.
He said that in this regard, there have been meetings from time to time with government officials that the relevant stakeholders should formulate a clear tax policy in confidence, which will not only give substantial tax benefits to the country but also increase the tax net because the current tax system has made it impossible for businessmen to live and day by day taxes are being applied in one form or another which is causing a lot of damage to the business and the people are also fed up.
He further said that for better understanding of the system and the benefits to the businessmen there is a need for an awareness session to make the businessmen aware of the KPRA system which the officials of the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Regulatory Authority have revealed requested to hold an awareness session, to which he expressed his willingness and said that a session will be held soon with the representatives of the concerned sectors, on which the officials of KPRA thanked Zahir Shah President Mardan Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
