Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said curtailment in power tariff on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr is a special gift from the government for the people. .
Talking to a private TV channel, the minister said that Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif is fully focusing on curbing inflation.
He said that power tariff declined by 3.82 rupees in the month of April as compared to the previous month.
He held there is reliance on dollar rates in quarterly adjustment. The electricity prices have gone down due to strengthening of rupee against dollar.
He went on to say business community and exporters were facing difficulties before our government.
We saved the country from default, and now the exchange rate and the value of the rupee are stable, he added. If the situation continues to improve this way then electricity tariff will witness more reduction, he remarked
He underlined that international financial magazines are saying inflation is on decrease.. Bloomberg magazine has also said that in Pakistan inflation has decreased by two percent, while it has also predicted that inflation will decrease further next year.
Positive indications are coming before.
Government is taking steps against power theft. Crack down will be launched against power fleecers. Government is bringing the best solution to extend relief to people, he added.
