LAHORE: Dacoits escaped with 70 tolas worth of gold, 7 kilograms of silver, Rs16 million in cash, and bonds after carrying out a robbery Sunday night here at a jewelry shop in the city’s Rang Mahal Bazaar. According to police, the dacoits cut a grill into the shop from its rooftop and entered via the staircase to avoid storefront break-in. They allegedly cut the wires of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras as well. Asif, the owner of the jewelry shop, confirmed that some 70 tolas worth of gold, 7 kilograms of silver, Rs16 million in cash, and bonds were looted from his shop. INP
