Symposium on countering violent extremism held at Uni of Swat

Speakers at a symposium held here noted that the government, civil society and leadership of the country needed to play a positive role in promoting youth leadership for establishing peace for the development and prosperity of the country.
The symposium on ‘Countering Violent Extremism’ was held at the University of Swat.
On this occasion, Kashif Irshad, Senior Manager of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism, said: “It is the need of the hour to promote peace, tolerance and conflict resolution in the education system. Incorporating peace education into university curricula will help young people understand the root causes of conflict and the importance of peace.”
He said that efforts to promote cooperation and collaboration between youth organizations, government, NGOs and international organizations will help youth leadership to play a positive role in establishing peace
Dr. Samiuddin highlighted the importance of youth in promoting a peaceful and economically vibrant society through perception management, broader narrative and consensus building.
Dr. Jamaluddin, head of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, discussed in detail the positive role of the media in awareness and awareness related to perception management. Expressed on the subject of character.
The Chief Guest of the event, Swat University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Hasan Sher said in his address that the youth play a fundamental role in the establishment of development, prosperity, peace and stability in any society and that is the reason why the Muslim society should promote development and peace.
He welcomed KPCVE for holding a symposium on these important topics in Swat University and thanked the officials of the Center of Excellence and expressed their determination that the University of Swat will promote peace among the youth. Center of Excellence will provide full support in the efforts of establishment, promotion of unity and solidarity and economic empowerment.
