Islamabad Police on Tuesday arrested seven drug pushers including five persons involved in supplying drugs at educational institutions and recovered seven kilogram hashish from them, a police spokesman said.
Following the directions of IGP Islamabad Aamir Zulfiqar and SSP (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed, he said that crackdown is underway against drug pushers in Islamabad and both officials are reviewing the performance of heads of police stations on daily basis.
Owing the efforts, a team headed by SP (City) Saad Aziz including DSP Secretariat Ulfat Arif, SHO Secretariat police station Asjad Mehmud, Sub-Inspectors Zahid Akhtar, Muhammad Yusuf, Muhammad Ishaq and others nabbed seven drug pushers. Out of these nabbed persons, he said that five confessed their involvement in supplying drugs at various educational institutions. They have been identified as Adeel, Siraj Khan, Usman, Khurram Shehzad, Habib, Hameed and Sagheer while further investigation is underway from them.
SSP Islamabad Waqar Uddin Syed has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance against drug pushers. He said that strict actions should be ensured against drug mafia as they put the future of youth at stake.
