PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Libraries and Archives, Meena Khan Afridi here Thursday inaugurated Integrated Library Management System aiming coordination of libraries situated in the province. He also launched shifting of Chitral archival record in District Library Chitral being established for facilitation of book readers. The District Chitral Library would help providing all the necessary material to book readers in Chitral while in past they had to visit Peshawar to search information and material. The minister was informed that integrated system has been introduced in 18 public libraries of 16 districts and more than 435000 books have been registered under the system. He was told that the system would enable readers to search data and inform online mentioning name of authors. Appreciating benefits of integrated system, the minister said that steps would be taken to digitize libraries and bring improvements in the system. He said that efforts are underway to introduce reforms in libraries for their better utilization.
