BISP currently benefits 9.5m families in Pakistan,says Rubina Khalid

Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, on Monday visited Kohistan to review the program’s facilities and ensure support for deserving women.
During her visit, she met with women beneficiaries and BISP staff, and surveyed the enrollment and payment systems.
In a statement issued here Senator Khalid emphasized the importance of fair and transparent payments, and instructed staff to prevent overcrowding and difficulties at payment centers.
She also announced a new skill training initiative to help families start their own businesses and overcome poverty.
In a conversation with the media, Senator Khalid shared that 9.5 million families are currently benefiting from BISP.
She reiterated the program’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment, in line with the vision of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
Rubina Khalid reminded beneficiaries to only trust the official number 8171 for BISP communications.
The visit aimed to ensure the program’s continued support for deserving women and families, with a focus on transparency, dignity, and economic empowerment.
