Inside story of meeting between Maulana Fazlur Rehman and interior minister Mohsin Naqvi has come to open. Maulana Fazlur Rehman has sought time on the matter of constitutional amendments.
According to sources interior minister appealed to Maulana Fazlur Rehmand to cooperate with government . Mohsin Naqvi requested Maulana Fazlur Rehman to sit with government and listen government stance on the matter of constitutional amendment. Interior minister conveyed the message of President Asif Ali Zardari to Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Sources disclosed Maulana Fazlur Rehman has sought time for consideration and consultation with party. Meeting is likely to take place again in the next few days.
Earlier Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reached residence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman to meet him. Mohsin Naqvi congratulated Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri on being elected unopposed as JUI-F Amir and JUI-F secretary general respectively.
Mohsin Naqvi said the role played by Maulana Fazlur Rehman for supremacy of parliament and promotion of democratic norms is appreciable. He is prudent, far sighted and visionary politician. JUI-F has done politics of principles under leadership of Maulana Fazlur Rehman. His services for his party and Pakistan are highly appreciable. He is senior most politician of Pakistan.
