The Regional Police Officer (RPO) of the Malakand Division, Irfanullah Khan, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security in the region during a recent media briefing at his office. He stated that ensuring a secure environment for both residents and tourists in Swat is a top priority.
Khan noted the influx of tourists to Swat, a popular travel destination known for its stunning landscapes and rich culture. He highlighted that the police have intensified their efforts, implementing 24-hour patrols to ensure safety. “There is no place for armed individuals in Swat,” he asserted, reaffirming the police’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens.
The RPO also mentioned ongoing search and strike operations targeting armed groups in various areas, which he personally oversees. “Our police force is fully equipped to handle any incidents that may arise,” he stated. He urged the public to report any suspicious individuals immediately, underscoring the community’s role in maintaining security.
In addition to regular patrols, Khan confirmed that all entry and exit points in the Malakand Division are under strict surveillance to deter any potential threats. “We are dedicated to ensuring that no troublemakers are able to enter the Malakand Division,” he concluded.
As the region experiences a surge in tourism, the police are not only working to ensure safety but also to foster a welcoming atmosphere for visitors, including foreign nationals, who are drawn to the beauty of Swat Valley.
The collaboration between law enforcement and the community is crucial for sustaining peace and promoting the region as a safe travel destination.
