Bushra Bibi has been released from Adial jail after being granted bail in the Toshakhana 2.0 case.
Additional security forces have been deployed at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, with Bushra Bibi’s release. The jail administration plans to complete legal formalities after receiving the release order.
Bushra Bibi spent a total of nine months in jail after being sentenced to 14 years in prison in the Toshakhana case on January 31 this year.
The Islamabad High Court had suspended her sentence in the Toshakhana case, following which she was re-arrested in the Toshakhana Two case. Yesterday, IHC granted bail to Bushra Bibi, wife of incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan, in the ongoing Toshakhana case.
The bail was approved by Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb during a hearing on Wednesdsy, with Bushra Bibi required to submit a bond of Rs1 million.
This decision provides temporary relief to Bushra Bibi, who faces allegations related to the improper handling of state gifts.
