In an engaging session on Pakhtunkhwa FM Radio’s program “Sports Roundup,” Khizar Ullah, Secretary of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boxing Association, shared the association’s efforts to promote boxing across the province. Responding to questions from anchor and young journalist Wisal Yousafzai, Khizar Ullah detailed the association’s commitment to expanding boxing opportunities at the grassroots level.
He emphasized that the association is utilizing all resources to reach talented youth in remote areas, aiming to establish boxing clubs in every region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Additionally, young athletes are being offered quality training under experienced coaches’ supervision. Regular boxing competitions are also organized, providing young boxers a platform to showcase their skills and gain recognition.
As a major initiative, Khizar Ullah highlighted the recent launch of an official registration process for boxing clubs and players in KP. This step will allow the association to compile a comprehensive ranking of skilled players, ensuring top performers are identified and granted opportunities to represent the province and Pakistan at both national and international levels.
Khizar Ullah also acknowledged the pivotal role of local radio and other media platforms in spreading awareness about boxing, inspiring youth to take up the sport, and fostering a boxing culture in the province.
