Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said on Monday one policeman had been killed in violence by supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which is leading a protest march to the federal capital of Islamabad. “In a tragic incident during ongoing protests in Hakla, a police officer, Mubashir Bilal, was martyred while performing his duties,” a statement issued by Governor House Peshawar said.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed deep condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of the martyred officer. He strongly condemned the violent actions of the protesters, calling the incident a reprehensible act that highlights the malicious intentions of the “protest group”.
“The martyrdom of Mubashir Bilal is a testament to the bravery and commitment of our law enforcement officers. His loss is deeply felt, and we stand in solidarity with his family in this time of grief,” Governor Kundi said. He further emphasized that such violence is unacceptable and vowed that those responsible for the attack would be held accountable.
The Governor reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order while protecting the rights of citizens and law enforcement personnel alike.
