Regional Coordinator of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Akbar Khan has strongly condemned the recent attack on passenger vehicles traveling from Parachinar to Peshawar, which claimed several lives and left others injured.
He described the incident as a reflection of the worsening security situation in the country, which is adversely affecting the business climate.
Expressing further concern, he highlighted the kidnapping of an 11-year-old student in Quetta, which has triggered widespread strikes and protests, paralyzing the city and causing significant difficulties for both the business community and residents.
Akbar Khan stressed that Pakistan’s already fragile economy is burdened by corruption, political instability, and persistent security threats, making the country an unappealing destination for foreign investors.
He pointed out that issues such as intellectual property rights complexities, an unstable tax system, and inconsistent regulations further deter investment.
Calling for immediate action, he urged the government to take strict measures against criminals and intensify efforts to combat terrorism, ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
He emphasized that a stable and fear-free environment is essential for the business community to thrive.
He also expressed solidarity with the affected families of the recent tragedies and urged the government to prioritize the welfare and security of its people.
