Naqvi visits NPA, announces its upgradation

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced to up -grade the National Police Academy (NPA). He announced this during his visit to the academy where he inspected the hostel, mess and other sections in details. .
Naqvi met the trainee officers and inquired about the facilities. He inquired about the facilities provided to them.
He went to mess and had a meal therein besides appreciating the quality of food. Later, he chaired a meeting to discuss the restructuring of academy. It was attended by the NPA head and other officials.
He sought master plan of NPA.
He said that new master plan of NPA be got prepared from consultant of international standard. National Police Foundation (NPF) will soon hand over cheque of Rs 25 crore to NPA.
NPA has to be made autonomous institution financially. Restructuring of NPA has to be completed within 3 months.
He directed to taking necessary steps immediately for to accord status of university to NPA saying ASPs course will have to be brought in conformity with the requirements of modern time.
He also said the best officers would be appointed at the NPA like the Military Academy in Kakul, adding that these officers would receive better allowances and facilities. The academy would also have a model police station and training laboratories to provide relevant training to officers. .
He resolved to make the National Police Academy an internationally recognised institution, with officers from other countries coming to the academy for training.
A high level meeting was also held under interior minister with reference to re-organization of NPA.
Interior minister while presiding over the meeting said NPA has to be made an institution of international standard . Police officers from other countries will come to NPA for training.
Head of NPA and other respective authorities were also present on the occasion.
