PESHAWAR: Deputy Commissioner, Kurram, Ashfaq Khan on Tuesday informed that four bunkers were destroyed in Lower Kurram, while 10 more are scheduled to be demolished today. He said the demolition of bunkers in Lower Kurram was in progress adding that yesterday, four bunkers were blown up, and today’s target is to demolish 10 more. A heavy contingent of forces and police was deployed during yesterday’s operation. Government sources stated that another operation would be conducted today to demolish the bunkers. Both parties have agreed to demolish five bunkers each. Under the supervision of police, FC, security forces, and assistant commissioners, the bunkers will be destroyed using explosives. Sources revealed that today’s operation will target bunkers in the areas near Balishkhel and Khar. According to government officials, there are over 700 bunkers spread across an area of 25 to 30 kilometers. Deputy Commissioner Kurram, Ashfaq Khan, stated that discussions with tribal elders and Jirga members regarding the operations have been successfully completed. APP
