Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar visited Punjab Stadium to review the arrangements of grand opening ceremony of Khelta Punjab Games’ Inter-Division phase competitions on Wednesday.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar was accompanied by Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, Sports Coordinator Malik Anoosh Khokhar, Manzoor Khokhar, Director Admin Dr M Kaleem and Director Sports RanaNadeemAnjum during his inspection visit.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry on this occasion briefed the sports minister about all the arrangements made for the grand event.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar inspected different parts of Punjab Stadium, including VVIP enclosure, players’ enclosure, fan sitting and security arrangements in the Punjab Stadium and directed the officers concerned to make excellent seating arrangements for the mega inaugural ceremony.
While talking on this occasion, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the third and final phase competitions of Khelta Punjab Games at a grand colourful opening ceremony at the Punjab Stadium on January 30 (Thursday). “Holding Khelta Punjab Games at such a wide level is a major step of Punjab Sports Department towards reviving sports culture among the younger generation of the province. The sports culture is was revived on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister”.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar said that Khelta Punjab Games are no less than a festival for the sports enthusiasts of the province. “Several Punjab Cabinet members, MPAs, national sports heroes, Olympians, sports dignitaries and other notable figures will attend the mega opening ceremony,” he informed.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar further said that hundreds of talented players will emerge from the platform of Khelta Punjab Games. “We are quite determined that these potential players will represent the country in international sports events in future”.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar said that top class facilities will be available for all participating athletes and technical officials during the third phase events of Khelta Punjab Games. “All the arrangements have been finalized for organising the grand sports event in a befitting manner,” he added.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar said that as many as 12 games, including athletics, cricket, hockey, football, basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, wrestling, table tennis, taekwondo, badminton and archery will be competed in Inter-Division phase competitions of Khelta Punjab Games.
