Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Provincial Chairman Sikandar Sherpao lashed out at the central and provincial governments, accusing them of failing to address the country’s economy and security challenges.
Speaking at a party meeting held in connection with preparations for the upcoming anniversary of the former governor of KP Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao, he raised reservations over the current law and order situation in the province.
In a statement issued by the party spokesperson shared that the anniversary of Hayat Shaheed will be held on February 11 in village Sherpao Charsadda.
Sikandar Sherpao rejected the government’s claims of economic improvement, stating that the continuous surge in food prices has made it difficult for people to afford even two meals a day.
He lamented that KP remains the country’s most underdeveloped province, further deteriorating due to decades of unrest.
He criticized the PTI’s 11-year rule, calling it the “darkest period” for the province, during which no significant public welfare or development projects were initiated.
He warned that the security situation in Malakand and the merged districts is alarming, particularly in the southern districts, where he claimed terrorists operate freely after dark. He urged the government to take concrete steps to restore peace and provide economic stability.
