402.70 million fines imposed on electricity thieves, 2,421 arrested. 6,090.59 million recovered from defaulters: iesco Chief Executive

In line with the vision of the Government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), IESCO continue its rigorous operations against electricity thieves and defaulters in the region. Chief Executive IESCO, Muhammad Naeem Jan while providing details of the actions, said that 4,708 electricity thieves have been fined 402.70 million and 2,421 individuals involved in the national crime of electricity theft have been arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, during ongoing operations against defaulters, IESCO recovery teams have ensured the recovery of 6,090.59 million in outstanding dues from 206522 running and dead defaulters. Additionally, meters and transformers of numerous non-paying consumers have been disconnected.
IESCO Chief Executive reiterated the commitment that their priority is to eliminate the scourge of electricity theft in the IESCO region and ensure 100% recovery of electricity bills. All necessary resources are being utilized to achieve this goal.
Consumers are urged to report electricity theft to the relevant SDO office or helpline number 118 and to fulfill their national responsibility by paying electricity bills on time.
