The Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Ramadan Floodlight Hockey Tournament concluded with Chinar Tigers emerging as champions after defeating Sarban Falcons in a penalty shootout by 2-0.
The tournament was organized through a collaborative effort between the Regional Office of the Provincial Sports Department and the District Administration.
The Deputy Commissioner of Abbottabad, Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan along with Assistant Commissioner Zark Yar Toru, attended the final as chief guests and distributed prizes among the winners.
The event was also graced by Regional Sports Officer Ahmed Zaman Khan, District Sports Officer Junaid Rehman, Olympian Naeem Akhtar, Inam-ur-Rehman and a large number of hockey enthusiasts.Held at the Hockey Stadium, the tournament aimed to promote sports among the youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Sanaullah Khan emphasized the importance of such events, stating that, these activities help keep young people away from negative influences and encourage them to engage in constructive activities.
He assured that more sports events would be organized in the future to provide youth with healthy recreational opportunities.
Regional Sports Officer Ahmed Zaman Khan and District Sports Officer Junaid Rehman welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude for their participation, highlighting the importance of fostering a strong sports culture in the region.
